Fall is here and so is the biggest festival in La Mesa! The 43rd Annual La Mesa Oktoberfest is set to be better than ever. With new attractions and loads of beer and food, this festival is sure to deliver a great time for all who attend.

La Mesa Oktoberfest 2016: General Details
This year’s La Mesa Oktoberfest will take place from September 30 to October 2. Throughout the weekend, this Oktoberfest event will be one of the biggest fall celebrations and dance parties at La Mesa Village. And of course, you can expect to indulge in some delicious foods and beers.
What’s New at La Mesa Oktoberfest
We all know La Mesa Oktoberfest has a ton of amazing attractions, and there’s even more to love for 2016.
This year’s festival will include a variety of new attractions, such as the Spaten Biergarten. This area will include a huge selection of beers as well as delicious foods, band performances, and much more.
On top of that, La Mesa Oktoberfest will include the 91X Twisted Pretzel Biergarten, an open air outdoor bar next to Johnny B’s on La Mesa Boulevard. This will offer beers from Stella, Franziskaner, and Spaten.
And as with every La Mesa Oktoberfest event, you’ll have to opportunity to chow down on some amazing foods from local vendors. More than 100 vendors are expected to set up shop along La Mesa Boulevard and surrounding side streets.
Live Music and Contests
The 2016 La Mesa Oktoberfest won’t just include beer and brats, though. Various forms of entertainment and live performers will also be a huge part of this festival. Each day will feature spectacular performances from the following acts:
- The BlueBirds
- Kalifornia Krauts
- The Bavarian Beer Garden Band
On top of that, the event will host a series of contests to help you show off some of your Oktoberfest skills. Throughout the weekend, there will be sauerkraut eating contests, beer drinking contests, and a stein holding contest.
Admission and Parking
Admission for this year’s La Mesa Oktoberfest event is free and all ages are welcome. Those interested in indulging in some pints of beer, wine, and other alcoholic drinks must be 21 or older and present a valid ID with purchase.
Parking will be located around the La Mesa Village. However, spaces are limited. So if you’re interested in attending, consider taking public transportation, the SD Trolley, or taxi and ride services.
