2017 Toyota Highlander Power and Performance Updates
The 2017 Toyota Highlander receives a performance upgrade from its 2016 model year with a brand new available 3.5L D-4S Injection V6 engine. Compared to its predecessor, this engine gets 25 more horsepower and 15 lb-ft more torque. This means the engine produces 295 horsepower and 263 lb-ft of torque. These engines will work with the available Dynamic Torque Control All-Wheel Drive as well.
The latest Highlander model will also include a new Direct Shift – 8-speed automatic transmission. It’s designed to boost the vehicle’s acceleration and passing abilities, so you’ll experience a smoother, more seamless performance.
And best of all, the 2017 Toyota Highlander offers the available Dynamic Torque Control All-Wheel Drive to increase performance capabilities and a towing package to help the SUV tow a maximum of 5,000 pounds.
Toyota Highlander 2017 Fuel Efficiency
The 2017 Toyota Highlander is giving drivers the one thing they’ve always wanted in a SUV: a fuel efficient performance.
This year’s model welcomes a brand new Stop and Start Engine System. When the car is at a complete stop, the system shuts off the engine to conserve gas. When you lift your foot off the brake pedal, it’ll restart the engine.
Plus, its powertrain technologies will also help enhance efficiency. Highlander trims powered by the standard engine will get up to an EPA-estimated 24 mpg highway. Those using the new V6 engine will get an EPA-estimated 27 mpg highway.
New 2017 Toyota Highlander SE
This year’s model welcomes a brand new trim to the lineup: the 2017 Toyota Highlander SE. Considered to be the sporty trim in the family, the Highlander SE blends premium features with a sport performance and design for a unique driving experience.
The 2017 Toyota Highlander SE features a front grille with a dark paint treatment, roof rails and exclusive headlamp housings. It also includes dark dashboard and door accents and black leather-trimmed seats complete with silver stetting and pattern inserts.
New Safety Technologies in the 2017 Highlander
The latest Toyota Highlander will come equipped with many of the same advanced technologies we’ve seen in its previous model years. However, the 2017 Highlander also adds a selection of new safety technologies, such as the standard Toyota Safety Sense™ P.
The Toyota Safety Sense™ P is a driver assist system that features advanced safety technologies. These help prevent accidents and ensure protection for everyone onboard.
