Notable Performance Specs & Features
The Toyota Avalon offers a fun-to-drive experience, no matter where you’re heading. And, it gives you the option of either superior efficiency, or additional athleticism. If you side with efficiency, the hybrid 2.5L 4-cylinder engine is the way to go. This option comes with various driving modes, like ECO, Normal, Sport, and EV, so you can tailor your driving style to match the conditions around you. Plus, this engine can still churn out 176 horsepower, and 163 lb-ft of torque. Finally, the hybrid motor sports an EPA-estimated 43 city MPG/44 highway MPG.1 The alternative option is the dynamic 3.5L V6 engine which can generate 301 horsepower, to go along with 267 lb-ft of torque. When it comes to the drivetrain, you’ll also get to select between two possibilities. You can go with either the 8-speed automatic transmission, or Continuously Variable Transmission.
Infotainment & Connectivity
If your daily commute could use an entertainment boost, then you’ll want to explore the various connectivity options found in the 2019 Toyota Avalon. For instance, this sedan comes with the available integration system, Apple CarPlay™. With this set-up, you can effortlessly link your smartphone with your car. After doing so, you’ll be able to pull up apps, navigation, or your favorite playlist, right on the touchscreen display located on your dashboard. The Avalon turns each song into a personalized concert, too. It does this using the 14-speaker, 1200W sound system that includes a built-in subwoofer.
How Much Space is in the Cabin?
Interior space is always important, whether you’re trying to fit the kids in the backseat, or need a little extra room for your luggage. The Toyota Avalon prides itself on convenience, which is why it sports such generous interior dimensions. For example, the second row is plenty comfortable, thanks to measurements like 54.8 inches of hip room, 57.1 inches of shoulder room, and 40.3 inches of legroom. If you’re sitting up front, you’ll enjoy 42.1 inches of legroom, and 58.3 inches of shoulder room. In all, the passenger volume is a cozy 104.3 cubic feet. We don’t want to forget about the cargo room, either. When you open up the trunk, you’ll have 16.09 cubic feet of available room, assuming you kept the rear seats up.
