2019 Tacoma Engine Specs & Abilities
The Tacoma comes standard with a 2.7-liter 4-cylinder engine that comes mated with a 6-speed Electronically Controlled automatic transmission with intelligence. This engine can produce 159 horsepower and 180 lb-ft of torque, and helps the Tacoma tow up to 3,500 lbs and carry 1,620 lbs of payload. The Tacoma also offers the optional 3.5-liter V6, which produces 278 horsepower and 265 lb-ft of torque. This engine pushes the towing to 6,400 lbs, while the payload capacity drops slightly to 1,175 lbs.
Entertainment & Technology Features
You’ll certainly enjoy heading out on the road in the 2019 Tacoma, due to its impressive assortment of entertainment and technology features. These features include the Entune™ audio bundle, which features a 6.1-inch touchscreen display that’s used to select your media. This screen also incorporates advanced voice recognition, which allows you to select your entertainment without taking your hands off the wheel. These features include the AM/FM radio, the CD player, Bluetooth® streaming and hands-free connectivity, and inputs for your portable media device to be played through the truck’s 6-speaker sound system.
Advanced Safety & Assistance Features
One thing that separates the Tacoma from other light duty pickups on the market is its inclusion of driver-assistance safety features. The Toyota Safety Sense™ P is a system that incorporates a few assistance features that work based on sensors mounted to the vehicle that measure speed and distance to detect a possible issue or collision on the road.
The Pre-Collision System with Pedestrian Detection factors your rate or approach and proximity to the object ahead to determine if a crash is likely, and provides a warning and slight brake pressure. The Lane Departure Alert with Steering Assist can detect when the Tacoma is straying from its path and provides slight brake pressure to guide the vehicle back to its intended lane. The Dynamic Radar Cruise Control lets you set a cruising speed and a distance from the object ahead, and it will keep the distance and adapt to the flow and speed of traffic.
