My experience with Norm Reeves Toyota was mixed. My 2024 Camry was in the service department for an extended period while undergoing a major engine repair. I understand that a repair like this can take time, but communication was frustrating. I was promised updates on several occasions that didn’t happen, and I often had to reach out myself to get a status update. That said, the staff was generally helpful when I contacted them, and I appreciated the work the technicians did and the updates I received from Larry Fogt. Overall, I think the repair process could have been handled better with more consistent communication and more realistic completion timelines. The quality of the repair is important, but so is keeping the customer informed throughout a lengthy repair.

Just bought a RAV4 2026 from this dealership, and everyone involved from the greeter at the door to the financial manager was truly amazing. Like every great book there’s someone that’s a standout character. Our sales consultant was that guy. Arvind Bakshi was simply the best. The dude is a freaking Superman. He’ll get you what you want without any pressure. He’s truly there to help you, and he’ll go above and beyond for you. He’s the to go to guy.

Spoke with representative "Sarah" regarding oil change and transmission drain and fill. She assured me that if I came right over before 1 PM today, they would get both done by closing time. In reliance on Sarah's assurance, I drove over - 40 minutes out of my way and arrived around 11:30. When I arrived, I was told by Alex and Denise they could, at best, get the oil change alone done by end of day. Denise added "Sarah is in the back and has no idea what is going on" also that "we have a new system" - whatever that means. I noted those excuses did not make amends for the fact that I drove 40 minutes in reliance on Sarah's unequivocal assurances and invited them to send me a coupon to make amends for the resulting detrimental reliance. In person, they indicated this was reasonable. Later, they texted me, made false excuses and blatantly misrepresented the conversation with Sarah to avoid responsibility and renege on providing a simple coupon. Disappointing. Had prior bad experiences with them in past years (airbag recall where the dash airbag cover looked thrashed (in stark contrast to the rest of the dash) after they replaced it - which they initially agreed to make right and then reneged on. Various times they tried to up sell, overcharge, or insist on flatly unnecessary (recently done) services (Javier) in dealing with me, my friends, and my relatives. Only considered going in today because they have a comfortable waiting area, it was just fluid changes, and I am in pain from just having had surgery. Today's experience re-confirmed that they don't take accountability for their own people's actions - they only make nonsensical excuses and stonewall. Again, disappointing.

They worked until almost 11pm on a weeknight to try and find us our dream car. So thankful for the service they provided. Garrett was extremely knowledgeable and helpful throughout the process. Our first new car was a Ford Explorer in 1998. After 15 years, we traded it in for a new 2013 Explorer. We were very happy with both of these SUV's. FYI: We never had any major issues or large out of pocket cost with either of these SUV's. When we were ready to purchase another vechile, we wanted a larger SUV. We looked at the Ford Expedition. We wanted a Hybrid, which Ford does not offer in this model. We researched the Toyota Grand Highlander Hybrid. We felt this would fit our current family needs the best. I called Norm Reeves on May 13, 2026 and made a 5:15 appt. with Garrett Evans. He was very friendly on the phone and told me they had a few 2026 Grand Highlander Hybrid's on the lot. We brought our neighbor with us, as he has great knowledge of many makes and models of cars. Garret greeted us with a big smile. He chose the 2026 Grand Highlander Hybrid Limited for our test drive. Both my husband and I drove the car, and felt very comfortable with it. We told Garrett we were looking for an XLE model. There was a 2026 Grand Highlander Hybrid XLE model in the back lot that we looked at and and were interested in. Garrett explained that he had an appt. with another customer and, because they worked as a team, he introduced us to Obed Pizano to continue with us. We spent the next two and a half hours going over figures for the 2026 Toyota Grand Highlander XLE model. (We purchased the 1998 and 2013 (new models), so we know the sales procedure to add on extras, etc.) We knew that Obed was the messanger and had the lingo down to present "all the extras" we should purchase. After much back and forth, we agreed on the final price, Obed then tried to add on the "Platinum Warranty". We went back and forth again, and stood our ground that we were purchasing this Toyota because of it's reliability and customer satisfaction, so we didn't feel we needed or wanted this "extra warranty". We told Obed that we were going to put $30,000 down. He told us that Norm Reeves Toyota could set us up with California Coast Credit Union. We felt this was a nice selling point, as we were going to check with our Navy Federal Credit Union. Ishmael Malik worked with us in the finance department. He was very cordial, but once again, tried to get us to add on the 'Platinum Warranty." All in all, we are happy with our experience with Norm Reeves Toyota. Our only wish was that Garrett would have been able to do our "entire sale." Garrett has reached out to me and said that if my hisband and I have any questions, or would like to make an appt. to come back and have him go through all of the features he would be happy to do this. I will contact Garrett when we are available to meet with him. He told us that he is new to Norm Reeves since moving to San Diego recently. We feel he will be a great asset to your dealership!
